I've started the planning stage for a complete rewrite of Strec, my lossless stream ripper software.
Strec might not be a very well known piece of software, for a reason: I've considered it too buggy to be fit for use by the general public, thus I haven't made it available on any software download sites apart from my own website. But seeing as I use the program pretty much daily I figured it was time to make a proper version of it.
My plan is to make the new Strec my first properly cross-platform piece of software (that I've released to the public, anyway), able to run on Win32, Linux and Mac. I will be implementing it in FreePascal and it will use BASS as the audio library.
I'll post further updates here as I get things done.

I accidentally spent most of the day coding, so I now have a basically functional stream player with a proper object-oriented design instead of the half-assed mess the original Strec was. I haven't implemented the memory buffer or recording functionality yet, though.
